The Rumble is Sin City!
Ok, so everyone is curious about this story with Jen at the concert, so I thought I would do a blog and explain the story. Jen has a favorite band called Brand New, that are a Indy band that I’m sure you have not heard of. (Unless you have guitar hero 5 which they have a song present) Brand New just came out with a new album and tour dates and one of those dates was here is Salt Lake. So the day that tickets went on sale Jen got us some. She was so excited to see them but the night before the concert the cancelled it because the whole band had the flu. Jen was devastated, she felt like she lost her chance to see them. Well it just so happens that they were also playing in Vegas a couple of weeks later. So I used my skyline miles and Hilton points and planned a secret trip to Vegas. I put the tickets in a box and gave it to her the day before we left. I had her mom in on it for babysitting and I worked very hard to keep the secret (something I’m not good at). Well she was shocked and we flew down to Vegas to enjoy the show.
We got to the show very early and got very close to the front. We enjoyed the opening two bands without too many issues and even though I have shrunk in size I’m still a large chap and get crowded easily and the closer it came for Brand New the more crowed I became. Then the time came when Brand New appeared on stage and Jen got into this nirvana state with a please grin on her face and that made me very happy to see. Then they started to play and their first song starts off slow and then they change the pace to intense. Well when this happened there was a black girl and her white friend that decided that they wanted up front and plowed past Jen. My sweet wife reached up grabbed that black girl’s hair (not something that most people are brave enough to do) and got her in a head lock. I was stunned, frozen in place. Then the black girl reached back and elbowed my wife in the eye and that broke me out of my stooper. I reached across Jen and lifter the other girl and not so gently placed her behind us. She then started to pound on my arm as I was holding her back. The bouncers started to flash their lights at us but quickly saw that I was just holding back a psycho and escorted her out. My wife turned back to the stage and started to grin again as nothing happened. The show was great after that and we had a great time being together just the two of us. It does make for a great story and now you know why I love my wife so, she has layers like Shriek.

Brown, Porn Porn, Warrior
When Josh and Sally came to visit we took an afternoon to visit our local aquarium, the cost of a year long membership is just double a daily pass so we went ahead and bought a year membership. Well yesterday we decided to go back and visit to make out money worth it. Well Mayson had one of her great quote days. At the aquarium there is a boat that the kids can pretend to drive. There was a Latino family at the boat when we first arrived and Ashlynne was trying to jump ahead and Mayson tells her in a very loud voice "Ashlynne we have to wait for the brown kid first" Yep that was fun. Then we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant. Mayson is learning to read so she wanted to order for herself. Our Oriental Waiter came up to our table and she looked up and said "wow, are you on ninja warrior". For those of you that don't know ninja warrior is a Japanese obstacle game show we watch. Well after some explanation she proceeded to order. She looked down at the menu and said "Ill have your Porn Porn". Now she meant the wonderful dish of Pon Pon but for some reason she put a "r" in there. (I promise mom she does not hear this from us) So anyways it was a quotable night for all.

Friday night pary
So this last Friday night we had a little mocktail party at our house. We invited some friends from work over and they brought their favorite mixers fro drinks. Inspired by our trip from Cancun we had bahama mamas, dacaries, sunrises, mojitos, and many more. (all virgin of course) I BBQ kabobs and then we watch Cocktail outside in our backyard. It was a good time. Thanks for everyone that showed up!
After everyone passed out on the lawn.(just like a real cocktail party...no puke though)

One of those days!

So Mayson is playing soccer again this year, (she's the tall one) and she is doing much better. She is actually running after the ball instead of trying to hold hands with the other team. The only thing I don't like about soccer in Utah is that its always so cold on spring mornings.
We keep Jordan warm with lots of blankets and food to work those jaw muscles!

Elder Holland
I know that this is a place for pictures of children and funny stories for family separated by miles can still stay in touch but I wanted to share something that hit home this weekend. For some reason conference snuck up on me this spring and I even forgot about Saturday morning session and didn’t feel ready to absorb any messages. Then Elder Holland’s Sunday talk happened and it was like a breath of fresh air. The sentiment and feeling portrayed through his words I would recommend anyone listening to it again. It was exactly what I wanted and needed.

Finally nice weather
Well we have finally moved away from Mr. Winter and into what resembles spring like trends. The kids were jumping to get out after being snowed in most the past months and this is the outcome. Enjoy (mom)

SNOW!!!
Ok, I hate this picture (I don't want to have anything reminding me of what it looks like outside) I hate the commute in snow. Yesterday it snowed and it snowed alot right at our drive home. Beau drove and did a good job keeping getting us to the mall safely. It took about and hour and forty five min to get to the mall where we meet for our carpool. It then took me about 30 min to get to the mall to my house. A distance I run all the time and do it in 25 min! I know we need the water and I don't want to complain but I looked at my golf clubs the other day and almost cried. :(
